Good Friday, Easter Monday, and Ascension Day are all public observances in Lesotho, and all three are a part of the greater Eastertide season.
It is sometimes said that Ascension Day comes 40 days after Easter, but that is only if you count Easter itself in the calculation. That method of counting is called “counting inclusively”.
For Christians, Ascension Day is a reminder of the fact that He who ascended has promised to return.
Other great themes of Ascension Day include the Great Commission, the reign of Christ from Heaven – called His “Session” – His coming reign on Earth, and the need to live holy lives until He comes again.
