Ascension Day 2025, 2026 and 2027 in Namibia
Ascension Day is a holiday in Namibia to commemorate Jesus Christ’s ascension to heaven as recorded in the Bible. It is observed on the fortieth day of Easter – 39 days after Easter Sunday – and always fall on a Thursday.

Ascension Day comes 40 days after Easter since the Bible records that Jesus ascended 40 days after His Resurrection.
Many in Namibia take Ascension Day as an opportunity to enjoy some time off work or school, hit the beaches if they live near the Atlantic Ocean, or just get out and enjoy the fresh spring air. Many also head to church to hear again the story of the Ascension of Jesus Christ.
It’s easy to forget the importance of the Ascension to Christianity, and having the day as a national holiday as well as church holy day is meant to remind people of this fact.
