Easter is regarded as the most important of holy days by Christians, and Easter in Sierra Leone is celebrated with two holidays – on Good Friday and the day after Easter Sunday.

The date of Easter changes each year based on the centuries-old calculations that determine the Christian Ecclesiastical Calendar. This means that the date of Easter Sunday can be anytime between 22 March and 25 April.
Church services and family gatherings are important activities on the Easter weekend. Some people also take the opportunity to visit the beaches and swim. Another traditional aspect of Easter in Sierra Leone is seeing young children flying homemade kites made of common cellophane bags.
Many charity groups also donate clothes, food, and more to orphans and poor children in Sierra Leone every Easter.
