In Uganda, Christmas, or “Sekukkulu”, is a national public holiday and is much celebrated by the people.

Many attend a late-night church service on Christmas Eve, sometimes called a “watch night”. Some may also attend church on Christmas Day.
Ugandans who live the cities often travel back to the villages to spend Christmas with their parents and family. They typically buy new “Christmas clothes” if they can afford them to wear to church, family, and public Christmas events.
Many will enjoy a large family feast on Christmas Day. And many will also take part in Christmas carolling or nativity plays.
