As in a number of other African nations, International Women’s Day is a major holiday that is taken very seriously by the people.
Every year, there is a grand parade in Lusaka, Zambia’s capital, for Women’s Day. The parade often is very colourful and exciting, with gymnastics moves made by some women in the march.
Many companies have bands of women who take part in the parade to show the company’s solidarity with women’s rights’ goals.
