Eid al-Fitr 2026, 2027 and 2028 in Morocco
Eid al-Fitr is a public holiday in Morocco and is much anticipated and celebrated by the people. Eid al-Fitr marks the first day of the Islamic month of Shawwal and the end of the previous month of fasting and prayer called Ramadan.
In 2027, Eid al-Fitr falls on Wednesday 10 March. The holiday will be on Saturday 26 February in 2028.

Eid al-Fitr is first of all a religious celebration in Morocco. Most people will attend early morning Eid prayers at a local mosque and hear a sermon there as well. Then, they will return home to celebrate and feast with family and friends.
Various cookies and pastries are traditionally eaten for Eid al-Fitr, along with such fare as lamb and prunes, chicken and lemons and olives, and various beef dishes.
A big part of the holiday is also giving the “Zakat al Fitr”, a religiously obligatory gift of food or equivalent money given to the poor so that they too can celebrate Eid.
