The devout in Seychelles attend public masses in honour of the Virgin Mary on Assumption Day. There will also be major parades, cultural events, and feasting with family and friends. Fun activities for kids and adults alike, such as tug-o-war, are also commonly put on for Assumption Day.
In Seychelles, Assumption Day is a major tourist holiday, with special events drawing sizable crowds of visitors. It may not be quite the big event it is in certain parts of Latin America and Southern Europe, but it’s certainly a significant holiday with plenty of things to see and do.
