In Cameroon, Labour Day is a time for parades, labour rallies, organised protests, public speech-making, and an abundance of TV and radio broadcasts focused on the meaning of the day.
There are also marches where long lines of people walk on ceremonial grounds and pass by government and labour union leaders. Businesses are keen to get their own banners, T-shirts, and logos carried by the marchers and out in front of reporters’ cameras during these events.
